Brian, Club President at Upton Cricket Club has ran the length and breadth of the UK proudly wearing his VSF running shirt
We really cannot thank Brian Shenton, the Upton CC Club President enough. He, along with all the lads and ladies at the cricket club, have been tirelessly fundraising for our charity since the beginning of 2016! They have also been very successful at it too, raising to date just over £6000! This money has paid for over 200 young people to be heart screened in their local area.
Brian, a super fit runner, has over the years ran many marathons and half marathons for our charity to raise awareness and vital funds to provide FREE heart screenings for young people aged 16 to 35 in his local area. He has in the past ran the Leeds 10K, Liverpool Marathon, Shrewsbury Half Marathon and the York Marathon as well as many others.
He has recently took part in the Wirral Half Marathon and this weekend he ran the Chester Metric Marathon, where he came a very respectable 178th out of a field of 1152 runners. He actually came 4th in the old boys MV65 category!
As well as raising funds for us he has raised such a lot of awareness of sudden cardiac arrest in young people and the need for heart screening. We really cannot thank him enough for his tireless work.
