Roy and Carol Claxton, as well as everyone involved with Eaton Golf Club, have surpassed themselves with the total amount they have managed to raise during their year as our Charity Champions
For the past year, Roy Claxton, his wife Carol and all the fantastic staff and members of Eaton Golf Club have been fundraising for our great little charity. Roy, as Captain for the year, very kindly decided to raise funds for us and the rest of the club really got behind him and supported our cause.
Over the last year they have tirelessly fundraised but have kept the amount they had reached very quiet, keeping us in suspense until the cheque presentation which took place on Friday 6th March. Our trustee, Lynn Hedgecoe, went along to receive the cheque and was absolutely staggered to see that the total raised was almost £6000! They had in fact raised a grand total of £5843.70. That is a phenomenal amount of money and one that will make a huge difference to the lives of local young people. We really cannot thank each and everyone at Eaton Golf Club enough for all they have done to support the work we do.
As well as the Captain having a charity of choice, the Lady Captain also does the same. This year’s Lady Captain, Jane Moore, managed to raise a grand total of £3075.62 for her chosen charity, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. Again, what a staggering amount of money to raise for a very well deserved cause.
All in all, it can safely be said that the people of Eaton Golf Club are extremely kind and generous people as, between them all, they have managed to raise just short of £9000 in the last 12 months! We wish to say a personal thank you to each and every person who donated to either cause and, of course, to Roy Claxton and Jane Moore.
