Helen Mawson took on the world's leading half marathon - The Great North Run - to raise funds for the VSF!
On the morning of Sunday 13th September my eyes were peeled to BBC One for a lovely lady wearing a red VSF t-shirt – it was Helen Mawson running the Great North Run!
Helen, a good friend of Chris’, took on the gruelling 13.1 mile course from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields to raise funds for our FREE heart screening program and completed it in 2 hours and 13 minutes! Absolutely brilliant! She said it was a very emotional day for her.
Thanks to the support she received from her friends and family, Helen managed to raise an amazing £360! Thank you to everyone who sponsored her.
