A huge thank you to Steph Pipe for running the Manchester Half Marathon in October to raise funds for our charity
Steph, from Tarporley, decided to fundraise for us after her family were affected by an undiagnosed heart condition. Thankfully, they are now under the safe umbrella of Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.
She took on the Manchester Half Marathon despite never having run one before – her aim throughout was to get through the whole race without stopping running. Not only did she manage to do this but she completed the race in a fantastic time of 2 hours 17 minutes!
There was such a great atmosphere throughout the half marathon and despite it being a very rainy day, lots of people including friends and family were out supporting her. She ran the race with two friends who were raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The total sum raised was just short of £1000! Absolutely brilliant!
Steph told us, “I’m so pleased that I have been able to raise funds for you and very grateful for the generosity of those who have donated. I had a couple of tough miles but knowing that I was raising money for a cause so close to my heart kept me running forwards!”
Well done Steph!
