Tom & Sophie’s last challenge is a cheesy one!December 12th, 2018

Tom & Sophie’s last challenge is a cheesy one!

After taking on a different challenge every month this year, Tom and Sophie can see the finish line. They just need your support!

For the whole of 2018, Tom Marsland and Sophie Hedgecoe have been fundraising for us.  Tom is Captain of the Senior 1st XI team at Upton Cricket Club and his girlfriend Sophie is a huge supporter of the cricket club, as well as being an Ambassador of our charity. They both decided to undertake a different challenge for every month of the year to boost the funds raised by the cricket club over the last 3 years.  Their aim was to raise enough to fund a FREE heart screening day in their local community.

The challenges really did vary, from having no alcohol in January and no meat in May to exercising every day in February and running 5km a day in April.  Not easy challenges by any means!  They have persevered though and have been raising lots of money to add to the pot that Upton Cricket Club have already raised – over £5000!

Now they are in their last month they really could do with your support, they want to end the year on a real high by raising as much money as they can.  December’s challenge is to be cheese free! How difficult is that in December?  Christmas is all about gorgeous cheeses! Why not make a donation on the cricket club’s Justgiving page – it would mean such a lot to them, to us and to everyone who will benefit from being heart screened in 2019?  Here’s the link straight into their Justgiving page – https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/uptoncricketclub

If you are interested in getting heart screened, and are local to Upton on the Wirral, then why not get booked onto our FREE heart screening at St Mary’s Church, Church Road, Upton, Wirral on Saturday 12th January 2019.  Just contact Tracey at info@vsf.org.uk
