VSF held another FREE heart screening day at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre in memory of local Crosby resident Chris Tansey
The Chris Tansey Memorial Screening took place on Saturday 10th June 2017 at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre. The screening was in memory of local Crosby resident Chris Tansey, who sadly passed away on 4th June 2015.
The screening was fully booked and extremely well attended, testing our clinical teams to the full. In total we screened over 120 young people aged between 15 and 35. We identified one person who, unbeknown to them, had an extremely dangerous heart condition called Long QT Syndrome. This person will be referred to an expert consultant cardiologist from the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, who will complete further tests and deliver any necessary treatment.
By finding just this one person has made this screening a massive success and we appreciate all the extremely kind and positive comments that were made to all the VSF team. Not only do the screenings identify potential undiagnosed heart conditions, they also deliver reassurance to individuals, their family and friends.
If you would like to help us continue to deliver these FREE life-saving heart screenings, then please help us to raise funds in any way you can – no matter how big or small your contribution and effort.

We look forward to seeing you at our next screening in July at Christleton High School in Chester
