A huge thank you to Macdonald Portal Hotel for allowing us to use their hotel for our heart screening on Saturday, it was a great venue.
We held our 25th heart screening event last Saturday, 24th November 2018, at Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf & Spa in Tarporley. We really are grateful to Alison Heyes and the rest of the team from the hotel for organising the rooms for us and looking after us so well on the day. The event was funded by Myles and the guys at Little Tap, as well as lots of fantastic people from Tarporley. A special thanks goes to Myles from Little Tap for raising funds for us and really getting behind our charity and what we do.
We had a fantastic turnout on the day – 99 people were screened. Thank you to anyone who contacted us to advise they couldn’t make their appointment – we were able to screen other people in their places. An awful lot of people went away with smiles on their faces, having had their heart checked and been told all was well. A few people were referred for further tests and we will report back on them when we are able to.
Thank you to everyone who generously made a donation on the day – £248.21 was raised. Other people were also asking if they could donate on our Justgiving page as well so many thanks to them!
We must say a big thank you to our team – Dr Johan Waktare from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Stephen and the two Gills from PDS Medical, our very own Laurence (Lol) and Jenny and Hannah, our student paramedics. They all form our fantastic clinical team and they do a great job. Also doing a great job on the day are Steve, Lynn and Tracey who dish out the medical questionnaires, take everyone through the process and generally make everyone feel relaxed and at ease. A huge thank you to them all!
We should also say a huge thank you to everyone who raises funds for us as it is because of you that we can hold screening events like this – huge thanks!
