We held our latest screening day at St Mary's Church in Upton, Wirral on Saturday and what a great venue it was. Thank you to Nikki for allowing us to use the fantastic facilities at the new building.
We held our 26th heart screening event last Saturday, 12th January 2019, at St Mary’s Church in Upton, Wirral. We really are grateful to Nikki for allowing us to use the fantastic building for our screening day and Bernie for opening up and looking after us on the day. The event was funded by all the great people at Upton Cricket Club and everyone who donated and supported all their many fundraisers. A special thanks goes to Jez, Brian, Sophie and Tom for all their continued support of our charity.
We had a fantastic turnout on the day – 93 people were screened. An awful lot of people went away with smiles on their faces, relieved having had their heart checked and been told all was well. A few people were referred back to their GP for further tests. Thank you to anyone who contacted us to advise they couldn’t make their appointment – we were able to screen other people in their places.
Thank you to everyone who generously made a donation on the day – £100 was raised. Other people were also asking if they could donate on our Justgiving page as well so many thanks to them!
We must say a big thank you to our team – Dr Johan Waktare from Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the two Gills from PDS Medical, our very own Laurence (Lol) and Hannah, our student paramedic. They all form our fantastic clinical team and they do a great job. Also doing a great job on the day are Steve, Lynn and Tracey who dish out the medical questionnaires, take everyone through the process and generally make everyone feel relaxed and at ease. A huge thank you to them all!
We should also say a huge thank you to everyone who raises funds for us as it is because of you that we can hold screening events like this – huge thanks!
